Marketing: The Most Powerful Process To Increase Your Sales

Marketing is the most powerful process to help your business increase sales and improve its brand image in the marketplace.

Marketing is such a huge field that it cannot adequately be explained in a page. But essentially marketing works best as a 4-stage cycle that continues to loop around for continuous improvement.

(1) Market Research involves finding out what customers want from your business, how they perceive you now, and how you can improve their satisfaction. It can also include asking potential customers or prospects similar questions, as well as what it might take to get them to consider another provider (e.g., your business). Lawrimore provides so many market research services we have dedicated another page to that - please click here for details.

(2) Marketing Planning creates an overall marketing plan for your organization. It includes objectives, target audiences, media, budget, schedule and responsibilities. A marketing plan is typically done for a year and must be flexible to adapt to new opportunities that arise. For details on our marketing planning services, click here. (3) Marketing Communications involves all the different ways your organization communicates with customers, prospects and other key groups. There are actually about 50 ways to communicate, but for convenience we divide them into 4 main areas. Click on any of these for more details:
    Advertising
    Public Relations
    Internet Websites and Videos
    Publications and Graphic Design

(4) Evaluation and Measurement are vital to make sure your money and resources are being used most effectively, and to continuously improve. In a multi-dimensional marketing program, it's essential to track where leads are coming from, and to evaluate the new income generated in comparison to the cost it takes to get it. What Is Marketing?
The 4 P's And The Role Of Selling

Many people are interested in using marketing but are not sure what it is. Here's a little explanation.

The 4 P's of Marketing - Since the 1950s, marketing has been described as the "4 P's" - product, price, place and promotion. Product is what you have to offer or sell, including services. Price is what you charge for it. Place is where you do business or how you deliver your product to customers. And promotion is how you interest customers in buying - such as advertising, public relations, the Internet, publications, special events, and personal selling or networking.

Marketing is not selling - Selling involves deciding what you or the company want to sell, then going out and trying to persuade customers to buy from you. Marketing involves finding out what customers want, modifying your products or services to meet their needs, then telling them that you have what they want. That is why marketing is so much more effective than selling alone. Now selling is a part of the marketing cycle -actually a kind of communication - but it works so much better when the market research and product improvement have been done first.
